The annual Isle of Wight Randonnee has had to be diverted due to the suspension of the Cowes floating Bridge, which is due to return to service next Wednesday (7th May).
Essential maintenance on the aging vessel in dry dock has been delayed, meaning the service won’t be back in action until Wednesday, longer than first anticipated. Due to this, the organisers of the Isle of Wight Randonnee, which is taking place on Sunday, have set up alternate routes for participants.
Riders will now take a route via Noke Common and Stag Lane down to the Newport-Cowes cycle path, through Newport Quay and Seaclose Park before joining Fairlee Road to resume the normal route at Whippingham.
You can find details of the new routes at https://www.cycleisland.co.uk/index.php?page=alt-route.
