Retained firefighters in Sandown responded to reports of a property fire earlier this afternoon (Friday).
At around 14:25, the Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service mobilised to an address on Carter Street.
It was quickly discovered that the fire had already been extinguished by the time the first crew arrived.
Although there were no flames to tackle, firefighters used Positive Pressure Ventilation (PPV) to force smoke from the property before leaving the scene around 30 minutes later.
