Business Students at the University of Portsmouth have teamed up with marketing company Madfrog and combined strengths to set up and launch a new digital event.
Business Students James, Rachel, and Davis during their 3rd year of studies at the University of Portsmouth formed team ‘Think Big’ as part of a competitive university assignment in November 2020 which involved working with local companies to help develop their business.
Working directly with the Directors at Madfrog, the Students proposed a new local digital event named ‘Madmas’ (a play on words combining ‘Madfrog’ and ‘Christmas’) in which Instagram photos would appear on the Madfrog Advertising Network across the south coast to spread festive cheer during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Madmas 2020 launched on December 6th 2020 after just two weeks of planning and preparation and was sponsored by Robin Hill and The Garlic Farm who provided fun and delicious prizes for the photo competition.
As a result of the Business Students’ hard work and success of Madmas, team ‘Think Big’ achieved a close second place out of forty other teams, narrowly missing out on the top spot, walking away with £250 in prize money from the University of Portsmouth.
The University of Portsmouth’s Business Consultancy is run annually with the aim of providing 3rd year Business Students with valuable real-world experience, whilst giving local businesses additional resources and the expertise of upcoming talent.
This is the first year Madfrog have participated in the Business Consultancy project, however, the company directors have been very impressed throughout.
