The Isle of Wight Scooter Rally returns this Bank Holiday weekend with thousands of scooters set to grace the Island’s roads – including during Sunday’s annual ride out.
Scooter Rally weekend will run from Thursday 26th August to Monday 29th August (Bank Holiday Monday).
The main base of the rally – organised by VFM Collective – will be Sandown Airport where there will be bars, food, shopping, music and more.
The highlight of the weekend however will be the ride out on Sunday 28th at 13:00, in which thousands of scooters, old and new, will ride together through the East Wight.
Crowds are expected to gather long before the start of the ride out at Quay Car Park on the Esplanade in Ryde.
Entertainment will be provided by Jack Up Events at Eastern Gardens in Ryde and will play host to Island bands and a 60s playlist, featuring Northern Soul, Motown, 2-tone and reggae, from 10:00 on Saturday, 27th August, whilst the Pavilion Bar and Ryde Superbowl will undoubtedly be popular too.

Pollution and chaos, funny how there is never any complaints how “green” these things are not. Still it’s all money, money, money isn’t it, that’s all that counts. All this save the planet stuff goes out the window when cash is involved.
Your just sad I’m afraid don’t like nothing
No; he is just a stupid wind-up merchant. Ignore his cretinous comments. He is scared of sharing his name on here-big hero.
What you need is a one way ticket to Ryde, SORRY, I MEANT SWITZERLAND.
You are quite right. They are ruining my weekend with the constant noise and stink!
Where will scooters show off this year in Ryde with half the green dug up at the bottom of union Street? They can’t all park by the pavillion? What has been arranged?
Way out on ryde sands. Just as the tide turns to flood.
Dreadful little ‘stink wheels’.
Sad person
I agree. Nasty, unstable, noisy, smelly little excuses for a bike with little power and no semblance of brakes, ridden by reckless yoofs intent on creating as much noise as possible, belying the actual power and speed of their steed. Cue flashback to 50 years ago. Parka mandatory, helmets optional, falling off, inevitable. Oops. Scooter rallies have been a feature of the IOW for a very long time, probably longer than a lot of the complainers. Stop looking for offence and let them have some fun. They’ll seem far less intimidating.
You are right. People don’t care that they are upsetting residents with the constant noise and stink.
Glad I’m heading the opposite way as they get off ferry il be getting on emissions a plenty noise deafening, chaos
I was beginning to think that I had dreamed about this-absolutely no advanced publicity at all this year.
Doesn’t need advertising, just follow the noise and stench of pollution. Enjoy breathing it in.
I am absolutely miserable with it. And I thought no-one had any money to spare!
Are they going to park all over the Green and along by the wall at Ryde… as per usual…
Hi, Is there a map /route of where and at what time the rally reaches each area on the Isle of Wight please?
It gave me an asthma attack when they came past my house. It should be banned for health reasons.
