The driver of a Jaguar will now appear in court after being found driving on the Island’s roads without a full licence and without insurance by Police.
Officers have seized the saloon car in Freshwater this afternoon (Sunday) as a result of pulling the luxury vehicle over on Stroud Road.
It was discovered during the traffic stop that the driver did not hold valid insurance, nor a full driving licence – only a provisional. There were no L plates being displayed and no accompanying driver.
The unnamed driver will appear at the Magistrates Court in due course.

Crush it
Why take it out in the car? Why not auction it for charity?
Low life again
Why do people think the law doesn’t apply to them? Crush the car and teach him a lesson.
Probably not his car
I would not like to be around when the actual owner finds out that will take some explaining ummmm dad etc, went for a drive in your car ,got caught by police and they have seized your car LOL!!! WHAT A PRATT
I hope the owner of the car is also prosecuted for allowing him to drive it without a proper licence or insurance. The alternative is he took it without consent, in which case he should be charged with TWOC.
Shut up Martin from Ryde bet you have a free bus pass
No! I have full clean driving licence and a nice car that I worked hard for. I pay a premium for insurance because of idiots who think the law doesn’t apply to them. You sound like one of those self entitled idiots that I’m speaking about.
I’m sure I saw this car being driven by a big fat chap the other day in Freshwater
His father?
iz father ougt use iz belt on the nipper
Won’t stop them doing it again ! Scumbags
Name and shame them
Shame to crush the car like some on here are suggesting. Give the chap a hefty punishment & auction/sell the car to aid police funds (or just give it to me – love Jags)!
+1 from another Jag fan on selling and not crushing! I’d love to own a late S-Type.
You don’t want a jag. They are crap and cheap. Use far too much fuel and cost a fortune to run. It’s true, cats don’t like water. I had one for three years, nice place to be but if it rained it became a lottery on how many cylinders it will run on (very common). The fix IS to drill holes in the boot to let the water out and stop one of the computers getting wet. Seriously that is the fix! I was on the jag forums a lot fixing stuff. At one point my decided that randomly locking and unlocking it self would be fun. Was a faulty solenoid in the locking mechanism on the passenger door.
Agree, sell the car to pay for police funds.
Take the driver and let him watch it being crushed
lol, the jealousy of this family in the comments is palpable
Whatever happened to boys will be boys!
You wouldn’t be saying that if he ran into your car and wrote it off and he had no insurance and you got no money think again
Why unnamed driver? After sentencing make him/her pay for removal of vehicle and crush it at their cost
Crush the driver and keep the car might make more economic sense, even if only his finger for first offence and move onto more delicate parts if it continues.
“Name & shame him!”, ….”crush his car!” …..””crucify him!”….. (such nasty, bitter people). Only Gentleman Farmer’s comment seems rational!
Time to make an offer for the wheels
Shame all the loud vehicles are back, racing around the side streets again, loud exhausts, backfiring, you name it… a small motorcycler beeping his horn as he rides away… why??? I did not know lockdown has finished..??
