Police on the Isle of Wight say they have a named suspect in an investigation into the theft of high-end electrical devices in Cowes.
News has been circulating on social media that 3 individuals have had Apple products stolen whilst conducting a private sale.
It is claimed that the ‘buyer’ snatched the items and ran away without exchanging any money. The 3 incidents are said to have occurred in the M&S car park off Denmark Road, Cowes.
2 iPhones and a Macbook have been taken and are not thought to have been recovered yet.
UPDATE @ 14:35 – A 20-year-old man from Newport has this afternoon been arrested on suspicion of theft, Police have confirmed.
The man has also been arrested on suspicion of robbery, relating to an incident later the same evening, where a laptop was taken in Admiral Gardens.
He remains in custody at this time.
