PODIUM PLACES IN DORSET FOR SHANKLIN SANDOWN ROWING CLUB

Shanklin Sandown Rowing Club travelled to Dorset at the weekend for the 8th round of the Hants & Dorset championship season. The club’s best results of the regatta came from Esme Walters who won her heat in only her 2nd novice ladies sculls race and then took the runners-up spot in the final. The Novice Ladies crew of Lisa Atkin, Theodora Travers, Evie Crew, Evie Selway and Jane Denby-Roach (cox) also had a comfortable win in their heat but again had to settle for 2nd place in the final. Arlo Adds finished in 3rd spot in his 1st novice sculls race, just missing out on a place in the final, and the Men’s Junior pair of Kev Faithfull and John Langborne finished in 4th spot in their heat, again just missing out of a place in the final. There was a 4th-place finish for the Masters Ladies crew of Hayley Owen, Stella Gamble, Jane Denby-Roach and Lisa Robertson and the Masters Men’s crew of Faithfull, Paul Gamble, Langborne and Gary Burch in their respective finals.
