Public consultation events about the proposed redevelopment of both Queensgate Primary School and Gurnard Primary School are to be held on the Isle of Wight next month.
Queensgate Foundation Primary School in East Cowes looks set to be knocked down and rebuilt by Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd as part of the government’s Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP). It is proposed to replace the existing teaching facilities with a brand new, 2-storey, 420 place primary school for 4 to 11-year-olds.
Parents and the local community are being invited to Queensgate on Wednesday 6th June 2018 between 16:30 and 20:00 to view and discuss the plans. Those unable to make it will be able to see the plans on the school’s website on 7th and 8th June.
On the other side of the River Medina, it is also proposed to replace the existing teaching facilities at Gurnard Primary School with a brand new, 2-storey, 420 place primary school for 4 to 11-year-olds with an upgraded, standalone Nursery.
The plans for Gurnard will be going on display at the school on Thursday 7th June 2018 between 16:30 and 20:00. Report to reception on arrival. Representatives from the ESFA and Sir Robert McAlpine will be present to help answer any of your questions. Those unable to make the event will be able to view the plans in the school reception between 8th-11th June between 09:30-14:30.
