A planning application for the development for 57 homes on the cusp of Ryde and Binstead has been submitted to the Isle of Wight Council.
Wight Gateway Ltd propose to build a total of 17 houses, 20 flats and 20 sheltered accommodation units on land at Ryde House off Binstead Road, opposite Ryde Golf Course.
If the application is approved there will be 8x 2-bed houses, 9x 4-bed houses, 20x 2-bed flats and 20x 1-bed sheltered housing units.
The land, which is currently unused and is described as vacant scrub land, sits off the gravel access road to Ryde House, a care home for the disabled.
