The night sky will be lighter than normal tonight (Tuesday) as a ‘pink supermoon’ will be visible on the Isle of Wight – but the moon won’t change colour as the name suggests.
Peaking at around 03:30 tomorrow morning, the supermoon will appear around 14% larger than normal and 30% brighter.
The name suggests that the moon turns pink, but this is simply not the case. The name comes from an American reference to a wildflower blooming in Spring. A pink supermoon is the biggest and brightest of the lot.
This month’s supermoon is the third of 2020 so far. The last will be on 7th May.

It’s actually a natural celestial phenomenon due to the ecliptic orbit of the earth around the sun. Happens quite often.

No. I think Geshla is referring to humankind’s instinct in, the past, to explain pestilence and plague as ‘the gods’ being displeased by our behaviours, visiting us with Covid-19 as punishment. That rather appeals to me.

Our NHS will have more than enough people of our own here in the UK to treat. Remember lots of people are not being treated for many ailments now, and the huge backlog will take months if not years to clear. And that is assuming that this does end within a few months, not a year and a half or more.
So whilst many lands will envy the NHS, it was paid for, and created for the British people first and foremost, and cannot possibly afford to treat the whole world, and now will be lucky if it can ever afford to treat all those who do live here in the future who have paid in or have had their relatives pay in to create this fragile but wonderful organisation for those it was intended for.
Too many people in the world, and the poorest as we see with our own people normally have the most offspring, ensuring that the problem get worse, not better ever year.
A price to pay for all I am afraid now for such ignorant attitudes, can only hope those responsible pay the price, but rarely ever do.
