The Phoenix Choir will be performing once again in All Saints’ Church in Ryde on Saturday (6th June) to assist in the raising of funds for the ‘Dais Project’.

As reported last year prior to the choir’s first visit, All Saints’ provides a fabulous acoustic setting for concerts and public speaking and seeks to place at the very centre of its mission and outreach the focus of this building, for the presentation of the arts, in the widest terms possible.

Phase 1 of the project, to adapt and make better use of the current choir vestry as a music resource, has now been completed. Phase 2, to create a small sacristy / vestry area in the south aisle lady chapel, is in progress.

Phase 3 – to build the dais which will allow better use of the space already created at the front of the Nave – is now built and almost tiled, the grills have still to be replaced, tiles specially ‘grouted’ and completed. Each tile costs £10 and has to match those existing in the nave and chancel

A building of the magnitude and beauty of All Saints’ needs a considerable fund in reserve to ensure the upkeep of its general fabric. The Choir are still seeking to replace money they have borrowed from the fund and the concert will assist with just that.

The All Saints’ concert commences at 19:30. Admission is free but there will be a retiring collection.”
