PC World in Newport will not be saying goodbye to the Isle of Wight, but will be moving 2 doors down.
Despite rumours of PC World ‘closing for good’, Island Echo can confirm that the popular computer store situated on Wakes Retail Park will be moving into the existing Curry’s store.
Across the country the 2 stores have been merging for sometime and television ads now state ‘Curry’s-PC World’.
The parent company of both brands, Dixons Carfone, has applied to change the signage at Wakes Retail Park to promote the joint Curry’s-PC World venture, PC World Business, Carphone Warehouse and the ‘Knowhow’ support team.
The existing PC World store will close in July following a refit of the Curry’s store, which is due to begin on 18th April. The joint Currys-PC World store will be laid out over 2 floors.
