Police are investigating an act of vandalism following the destruction of a notice board in Newport.
The display was only erected at Sylvan Drive yesterday morning (Tuesday) but has already been the target of what appears to be a deliberate act of vandalism.
It is evident to authorities that the legs have been sawn in half which has resulted in the notice board falling, smashing the glass front in the process.
Newport Parish Council, who are responsible for the installation and upkeep of the notice board, say the act of vandalism is ‘very alarming’.
If you have any information that may help the investigation then you are asked to contact the Clerk of Newport Parish Council on 01983 559119, by emailing [email protected] or by phoning the Police on 101.
