Just weeks after re-opening its doors to clubbers on the Isle of Wight, The Balcony nightclub in Ryde has unexpectedly closed.
The once-popular nightclub re-opened late last year under new management. However, it has been announced today (Thursday) that management of the club has now returned to Ryde Superbowl.
In a statement issued on Facebook, it has been said:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Balcony is no longer open. Management of the club has now returned to Ryde Superbowl.
“We will not be reopening up as a nightclub in the near future but there are exciting events coming up so keep watching this space!”.
Islanders were promised great DJs, club nights, live music, food and much more with the venue open Fridays and Saturdays from 21:00-03:00.
Those hoping to recreate their 90s memories will have to put their plans on hold as it seems The Balcony won’t be welcoming any weekend antics for some time to come.

Too lazy to dance? Is that even a thing? Personally haven’t been there because 1. It’s too out the way (I wear heels) 2. it’s not cheap, they could make it free entry before 11pm or something 3. One room means too many music genres 4. I feel like the place would be full of people 40+ trying to relive their “balcony” years. Needs a whole new approach
