After their huge success at The Crazy Coqs in London’s West end, Opera Tottie starring Carolyn Allen and Paul Smith are bringing their show ‘Shaken, Stirred With A Twist’ with new naughty numbers added for good measure.
This is a classy, clever, stylish cabaret that spans opera to jazz. They promise a glamourous evening of warmth, wit and laughter in the luxury of Ventnor Arts Club.
Carolyn may well be a familiar face to many of you given her many TV appearances playing Dennis Waterman’s ex-wife in New Tricks and, memorably, Vonny, the sexy stripper and snake charmer, in Only Fools and Horses. She has also appeared in The Upper Hand, Slinger’s Day and Just His Luck. She also appeared as Carole in the film Personal Services the story of Cynthia Payne Carolyn’s West End credits include famous farces, Two Into One and See How They Run, Joseph And His Amazing Technicolour Dream Coat, Les Miserables and Jo Papp’s Pirates of Penzance at the Drury Lane Theatre.
Paul began his career playing for cabaret in Europe and America. He enjoyed three years as Danny La Rue’s musical director on stage and television as well as MD for Ronnie Corbett and Anthony Newly. Paul’s concert work has taken him all over the world playing and conducting for Pam Ayres, Sheila Steafel, Janie Dee and the late great Dame Hilda Bracket. Paul is also a specialist in Victorian Music Hall he played regularly at The Players Theatre over fifteen years.
Opera Tottie is a very different, friendly and engaging show bringing a little cabaret style glamour and sparkle from the West End to the Island – a bit of a theme at Ventnor Arts Club. There are two shows on Friday 29th & Saturday 30th August and tickets are available now, online via www.ventnorartsclub.com or at the club.
