Police have confirmed that no new evidence has been discovered following a 3-day search at Luccombe for missing 45-year-old Robbie Gibson, who hasn’t been seen in over 7 months.
On Monday specialist cadaver Police dogs from the Thames Valley began a search of the coastal path between Shanklin and Ventnor in a bid to help locate Mr Gibson, who disappeared in June last year.
Despite the thorough search involving WightSAR – the island’s volunteer search and rescue team – no new evidence has been found and the mystery of his whereabouts continues.
Robbie, who comes from the Crystal Palace area of London, was last seen on CCTV buying a bottle of whiskey and a box of painkillers. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since.
It was hoped that this week’s search would bring closure to Robbie’s family and friends.
Anyone with information on Mr Gibson’s whereabouts is asked to call DS John Stirling on 101, quoting 44160231297, or contact the charity Missing People on 116000.
