Newport businesses are already benefiting from the #WDYT digital influence campaign, but it’s not too late for Newport businesses not previously signed up to get involved as a catch-up session is to be held in the town tonight (Wednesday).
Newport is part a growing #WDYT National Campaign that is helping High Streets increase their footfall through digital activity, as previously reported by Island Echo. It has been proven that to increase footfall to local high streets, towns and retailers must have a consistent digital presence.
No matter your current digital experience, from total beginner to advanced user, the campaign is tailored to every level of experience. Every day, retailers that sign up to the campaign will receive their updated ranking as well as a quick tip – which takes 5 minutes or less – to help immediately improve their position.
Newport Business Association Chairman, John McLaughlin, said:
“There’s a definite link between people browsing online and still choosing to use our high streets for their purchases – ‘Clicks to Bricks’.
“Newport Business Association welcomes the investment to our town by the Isle of Wight Council and we encourage everyone to get involved.
“There’s always been a friendly rivalry between Newport and Ryde so it’s fun to have an element of competition during this project. Newport has to win!”
An information event is being held at Readers on South Street tonight (Wednesday 7th March) at 18:00.
