Nominations for the Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards close at midnight on Monday 16th January 2023.
The Isle of Wight Sports Achievement Awards is an annual event that recognises outstanding achievement or service amongst sportsmen and women of all ages and celebrates our Isle of Wight success stories. The ceremony is presented by the Isle of Wight Sports Foundation, which promotes sport throughout the Isle of Wight and represents and campaigns for all sports and recreation clubs on the Island.
The individual sports reports published each week show that there is much to proclaim, but there are also many unsung heroes. The Isle of Wight Sports Foundation would like to see as many sports and clubs as possible represented in the nominations. Putting forward a nomination is acknowledging in public the success that a member or team has achieved or the contribution that a volunteer or officer has made to the progress of the club.

There are also awards for the Primary and Secondary schools that have done the most to promote sport and physical activity in 2022.
Claire Beasley, Chairperson of the foundation, has said:
“This is an opportunity to recognise the immense sporting talent that exists here on the Island and to thank all those who give so much of their time to the development and management of sport.’’
The Awards ceremony will be held at the Medina Theatre on the evening of Thursday 30th March 2023. All finalists will be invited.
The nominations will be judged by an independent panel. Nominations should be made online: iowsports.org/awards/
