The Isle of Wight NHS Trust football team will be taking on the Hampshire Constabulary football team in a special charity football game next Sunday (14th July 2019).

The game will be played at Westwood Park in Cowes on Sunday 14th July in aid of 2 charities – The Joe Ellis Trust and SANDS.

Next week’s game is a rematch from 2017 when the police took a narrow victory by scoring in the final minute to give them a 2-1 win. Both teams are hoping that this re-match will be equally as entertaining to watch.

Team members from both sides have been training very hard and giving up their time for free, even spending their own money renting pitches, to make sure they are ready to put on a good game on Sunday 14th July.

Gates open at 14:00 with kick-off at 15:00. Westwood Park can be found at Reynolds Close, Cowes, PO31 7NT.

Both teams are not only hopeful of raising money for the 2 charities but want to raise awareness for the work they carry out too.

A little bit about the charities:

SANDS – Sands is a UK charity that works across the country to support anyone affected by the death of a baby; improve the care bereaved parents receive from health care and other professionals; and reduce the number of babies who do die by funding research and working closely with other organisations to create a world where fewer babies die.
