Staff from across all services of the Isle of Wight NHS Trust took part in the 2nd annual Netball Tournament last month, which saw 10 teams battle it out with the hope of being crowned the 2019 champions.
The first round was divided into 2 groups of 5, with the Mental Health Service winning 1 and the Therapies team the other. The battle for 3rd and 4th place followed, with the Ambulance Service taking 3rd place and the Finance department 4th.
The final between the Mental Health Service and Therapies team was an exciting and hard fought match but ultimately the Mental Health team managed to pull away to secure the trophy for the second time and be crowned the netball champions of 2019!
Organiser and Isle of Wight NHS Trust staff member, Tina Scovell said:
“The day was a great success and full of comradery between the teams. This would not have been possible without the dedication of all those that took part as well as Isle of Wight Netball Coach, Carol O’Brien for organising the event with me, and all our amazing volunteers that helped to umpire, ball run and keep score during the day.”
The participating teams included: Mental Health Service, Shanklin Medical Centre, Memory Service, Pathology Service, Community Rehabilitation, Ambulance Service, School Nurses and Health Visitors, Therapies, Finance Department and CCAMHS.
