Hovertravel have been forced to make amendments to their early morning timetable on Wednesday due to the arrival of HMS Queen Elizabeth to her home port of Portsmouth.
As reported by Island Echo yesterday evening, the new aircraft carrier will be arriving in Portsmouth for the first time at around 07:10 tomorrow.
Queen’s Harbour Master (QHM) has informed Hovertravel that they are required to suspend operations between 06:50-07:20 and therefore the following amendments have been made to the timetable:
Wednesday 16th August 2017 ONLY
- 06:45 from Ryde is retimed to leave EARLIER at 06:30
- 07:00 from Southsea is retimed to leave LATER at 07:20
Additional service will operate at 06:00 from Ryde and 06:15 from Southsea.
The arrival of the carrier may cause some travel disruption during the day and may affect the HoverBus service. Hovertravel say they will endeavour to minimise these disruptions where possible and will be adding extra hovercraft services when needed.
