Newport’s Men’s Novice crew had an encouraging race on Saturday (17th June).
Boris Hare, Connor Garner, Chris Clarke and Artur Rozvodovski were competing at BTC ( Southampton) in the latest round of the Hants & Dorset regatta season.
Newport were left on the start as they did not hear the ‘Go’ out in lane 6. But they rowed hard, and with a excellent turn from young cox Marianna Hare, they were closing fast on Itchen, but the line came before they could chase them down, finishing a close 2nd.
