The Isle of Wight Heart Care Club are to welcome Newchurch Male Voice Choir to perform at a concert at St John’s Church, Newport on Saturday (9th July).
This is one of a series of fundraising events organised by the committee this year to celebrate the club’s 25th Anniversary and raise funds essential to ensure the continuity of the service.
The IWHCC is a totally self-funding organisation, affiliated to the British Heart Foundation and has been awarded the prestigious Government Awarded Charter Mark twice – in 1997 and again in 2000.
The Club’s aim is to provide ongoing support and help for heart attack patients who have completed a cardiac rehab programme within the Physiotherapy Department of St Mary’s Hospital. Membership is by referral from a GP.
The popular Newchurch Male Voice Choir have been performing and raising money for good causes for nearly 50 years, has close to 40 singers and has sung at many venues on the Island and the mainland. The choir repertoire is very varied with traditional male voice pieces being sung together with more modern material.
The concert commences at 19:.30. A raffle will be held, refreshments will be available and there will be a retiring collection.
