Suicide Prevention & Intervention – SPIIOW – is looking for a new chairperson to take on the role from April 2020.
Due to family circumstances, the current chair will be standing down in just 2 months’ time. Therefore the not-for-profit organisation is looking for someone to fill this very rewarding role.
In addition to the general responsibilities of a trustee, the duties of the chair include providing leadership to the organisation, chairing board meetings, giving direction to policy-making and representing the organisation across the Island.
In addition to the person specification for a trustee, the chair should have leadership skills, experience of committee work, tact and diplomacy, good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as impartiality, fairness and the ability to respect confidences.
In most circumstances, it would also be desirable for the chair to have knowledge of the type of work undertaken by the organisation and a wider involvement with the voluntary sector and other networks.
If you would like to express an interest and apply for this role do so no later than Friday 28th February at 17:00 by emailing [email protected] – FAO Sarah Adams.
The new chair will take the seat from Monday 27th April 2020.
