As a result of Dr Michele Legg’s appointment as Chair of the Isle of Wight Clinical Commissioning Group, Dr Legg has stood down from the Board of the Federation, having established and led the organisation since November 2014.
The new Chair of the Federation is Dr Margarita Kitova-John who has been one of the Directors since October 2015, representing the smaller practices on the island. Dr Kitova-John has been a GP for 3 years and is a partner in a rural, dispensing practice with 3 branches across the southern part of the island.
Dr Kitova-John’s clinical interests include drug management, sexual heath, skin conditions and childhood illnesses. She has been contributing to the work of the Federation with expertise in business and strategy development and hopes to follow in the steps of Michele in establishing the position of the Federation as the representative and negotiating body for the island practices.
“I believe that working together will make local General Practice stronger and help it to adapt to the increasing demand. I hope I can honour the job of Chair and live up the challenge.”
