‘Networking@’ returns to Kasbah on Wednesday (23rd May) as another digital specialist takes the floor.
The networking event brings together digital enthusiasts from across the Isle of Wight for an evening of conversation and activities.
This month’s event sees Jack Whitewood, founder of Ventnor Fringe Festival, discuss how he turned his passion for the arts into one of the Island’s most vibrant boutique festivals. Now, for the first time, he reveals how audience personas through Facebook helped promote the festival.
Jack trained as a Director at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in London, followed by a period as a Literary Assistant at Hampstead Theatre. He is one of the founders of the Ventnor Fringe Festival, now the Island’s largest annual gathering of artists, as well as Artistic Director at Ventnor Exchange which he co-founded in 2014.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear Jack’s advice on setting up a festival, how to promote it online and the techniques used to determine target audience on Facebook.
Afterwards, attendees will create a fictional product as they break down its core features and benefits in a group activity.
Callum Murphy, Event Organiser at Desk Digital said:
“After the success of our last event, Networking@ Kasbah will offer another chance for attendees to learn new digital skills they can apply to their business for free.
“Jack knows his stuff when it comes to audience creation on Facebook – his advice will help people create even more targeted campaigns online.”
Jack Whitewood, Artistic Director at Ventnor Exchange said:
“One of our core functions is audience development and a key part of our strategy is developing audience profiles. It’s so important to have a full understanding of who our audiences are and how we can improve our methods of engagement.”
The event will start at 19:00 and finish at 21:00. The bar will be open for hot and cold drinks throughout the night.
Due to venue capacity, Networking@ events are free to attend but require people to register attendance online first. Visit https://desk-digital.co.uk/networking-isle-of-wight/ to register for free.
