Former leader of the Green Party of England and Wales, Natalie Bennett, will be the special guest at a showing of independent films on Sunday 9th April in Newport.
Ms Bennett is visiting the Island to lend support to the Green Party campaign ahead of the local elections in May.
The film night is being organised by Island-based curator MIST, with support from the Island branch of the Green Party. Doors will open at 18:00 for a 19:30 start at the Apollo Theatre in Pyle Street.
The films currently selected are rated from 12 to 15 and might not be suitable for very young children. Island-based film makers are encouraged to submit their work for consideration.
The film night is a free event, with tickets on a first-come, first served basis, due to limited seating in the theatre. Donations in aid of Island refugees are welcome.
