Isle Access – a charity that supports disabled people across the Isle of Wight – has received a donation of £5,700 from the Morrisons Foundation. The funding from the charitable arm of the supermarket has enabled Isle Access to provide a weekly warm space for disabled people and their friends. The space – based in the centre of Newport – will offer activities, support services as well as refreshments and a light lunch. Jan Brookes, Isle Access CEO said:
“This grant will allow us to provide an accessible and inclusive warm space to people on the Isle of Wight. With so many families living in food poverty, such warm spaces are becoming more vital for people. “The space also helps to prevent social isolation, and we can provide information about other services that can help people. A huge thank you to Morrisons Foundation for helping us to provide this.”

The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarket in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which help improve people’s lives. instead of virtue signalling, morrisons should cut the prices of their goods by the same amount they are handing out – then those of us that shop at morrisons, won’t be the ones funding these virtue signalling, do gooders
You are an idiot islander because: “Virtue signalling is defined as the public expression of opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one’s good character or social conscience or the moral correctness of one’s position on a particular issue.” Actually doing a good thing (like this done by Morrisons) is not virtue signalling, but instead it is a good deed for the benefit of wider society. I applaud them for doing good for society.
Wrong alfred- morrisons are making everyone pay more for their groceries, just so that they can look good with their virtue signalling.
