Police on the Isle of Wight are urging residents to ‘keep it locked’ after money was stolen from no less than 8 vehicles in Rookley over the weekend.
Sometime between Friday night and the early hours of this morning (Monday), a total of 8 vehicles were entered and searched with loose change stolen from within.
The vehicles were parked in a number of different roads in the village including Manor Crescent, Main Road, Dolcroft Road and Niton Road. Some of the vehicles involved had been left unlocked.
Hampshire Constabulary are taking this opportunity to remind motorists to ensure their vehicles are securely locked. It is also worth checking that any security lights you may have work and if you have CCTV make sure it is functioning.
Officers are asking anyone else who has been affected in this area to call the West Wight Rural Police team on 101.
In addition, if you witnessed anyone acting suspiciously in these areas over the weekend, or have CCTV covering these areas that may have caught something, call 101 and quote 44200041352.
