The popular fast food outlet McDonalds in Newport is to close for a period of 6 weeks from next Sunday (8th January).
It has been revealed that the St James’s Street eatery is to undergo a large refurbishment to bring it up to modern spec, similar to work carried out on the sister store in Ryde at the tail end of 2016.
Over the course of the 6 weeks the restaurant will be having a huge overhaul and refit with more space created and the installation of self-service kiosks, wireless charging points, electronic menu boards and tablets at tables.
When the store reopens all food will be made to order, including beef products .
A spokesperson for McDonalds Newport said:
“During the time in which we are shut our loyal customers will still be able to visit our other store at Ryde, which will be open 24/7 throughout the entire period”.
McDonalds Newport will close at 22:00 on Sunday 8th January and reopen on Wednesday 22nd February at 10:30.
