Hundreds of Minis will descend on the Isle of Wight this weekend as the Isle of Wight adventure returns.
As part of their annual trip, members of West Country Minis – a Mini owners club that started back in 2005 – will be travelling across the Solent, with it expected that on the Red Funnel on Saturday morning there will be at least 100 of the iconic motors.
Thewill be heading towards Sandown Airport – similar to those who took part in the annual Scooter Rally at the end of August- for a car meet and get together at 12:00, before heading out in convoy through Sandown, Shanklin and Ventnor in the afternoon, starting from 16:00.
Guests are able to camp at Sandown Airport for free the whole weekend.

wow 100 mini’s imagine how much money the rip off ferry company will earn… !!!
Ferry companies should only charge them half price, they are only small vehicles
Why should they pay the same price as large vehicles.
Same should apply to parking fees.
If everyone in the world owned a small car, Roads would be free for all to park.
Some persons have large estate cars and drive around on their lonesome hogging roads and parking spaces.
Parking permits Islandwide, charges by size of vehicles.
Amazing how many people have a baby and suddenly decide they must buy a Range Rover or something. Seen friends do it. Madness. You are absolutely correct.
Ferry companies do charge by length and height of vehicles
Don’t worry. Red Funnel looked after us with deal rates, and the managed to get 3 rows side-by-side on the ramp rather than 2. This meant we were all together too so was a spectacle to see. Thanks Red Funnel
A classic British car. A must see for many
Bet there’s no staff shortage tomorrow then!
Beats lycra clad cyclists hands down!
All visitors should be welcome here, regardless of the type of vehicle or clothing apparel. Without them, we would have many more people unemployed on the Island.
Nice to see all sorts of people coming over to enjoy our island… not quite sure why you brought cycling into it though?? For the record, lycra is an ideal material for cycle clothing, it’s light and dries out quickly if you get caught in a shower, that’s why cyclists wear it, because it’s ideal for cycling.
Saw them all arriving off the ferry this morning as I was going to mainland. Some beautiful well looked after cars. Lots of people waiting for ferry we’re admiring them.
i guess the pointless pollution of the environment with exhaust fumes is irrelevant to these people. They should be made to retire these antiquated vehicles and get something electric.
