Harwoods Division 1 football club Northwood St Johns FC have announced the appointment of a new manager: Mark Allen. Andy Simpson has been appointed as manager of the reserve team. The club – based at Cowes Community Club – had a difficult 2023/24 season, escaping relegation from Division 1 by just 2 points. Northwood St Johns have said:
“The committee and Kai Barnes have held conversations, and Kai has stepped down as first team manager. We thank Kai for his efforts last season and wish him the best. “Therefore, going into new season ahead, Mark Allen has agreed to be the new 1st team manager for next season with support from John Cook. “Andy Simpson will be taking over as the reserve team manager, bringing with him good experience and more youth players. I hope you can all get behind the new managers and look forward to the season ahead.”
New 1st team manager Mark Allen said:
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to become first team manager and work with the current squad of players young and older along with new players we have coming in. “The Club has struggled of late but with a little hard work and effort we won’t be short of challenging and competing. Fitness, commitment and competition within the club, will drive us all forward to achieve more. “Preseason will start Wednesday 3rd of July.”
Good luck this season, Northwood! ✊️
