Max Draper has resigned from the position of manager of Cowes Sports, the club have announced.
Cowes Sports put out the following statement this evening (Thursday).
“Tonight, after a meeting between the committee and the First Team Manager Max, and having discussed the current situation around performances, the decision has been made by Max that he will step down in his role as First Team Manager.
“We want to thank Max immensely for what he’s done for the club over the last 5 years, keeping the club alive during very difficult times and putting the club in the position to be able to be positive and take the next step in growth like we’ve done in the last 12-18 months.”
Ian Potts will take charge of Cowes Sports’ 1st team for Saturday’s home game against Baffins Milton Rovers at the Zilch Waste Stadium (Westwood Park).
The Yachtsmen have gone 14 games without a league victory and are currently bottom of the Wessex Premier table with 2 points from 7 games.
However, on Tuesday evening, they advanced in the Hampshire Senior Cup by beating local rivals East Cowes Vics.
