Residents in parts of the East Wight are without internet services following an infrastructure fault in the local system this morning (Thursday).
Subscribers with several major providers, including TalkTalk and Utility Warehouse have been experiencing issues connecting to the internet since around 09:00.
Island Echo has been told by several of those affected that their providers’ technical support teams have pointed the finger at a local infrastructure problem as opposed to a provider-specific issue.
Problems have been reported in areas of Sandown, Lake, Shanklin, Brading, and Niton.
Some customers say they have been on hold to their providers for over an hour in search of a solution, which is leading to residents in a large number of streets using their 4G data allowances for connectivity.
No expected return time has been issued by any providers.
