Shanklin Theatre’s first volunteer fair will be held at the Theatre on Saturday 9th September between 10:30 and 15:30.
Shanklin Theatre is mostly staffed by volunteers. There are many roles there are to choose from: bar staff, catering team, box office housekeeping team, IT, maintenance, ushering, gardening, brochure Distribution and more. Those interested are advised to talk to team members from all departments to find out what’s involved.
Those attending the fair will be welcome to free tea and coffee plus the chance to win a £10 theatre voucher, a free theatre tour ticket and 1 year’s membership of Friends of Shanklin Theatre.
Shanklin Theatre Volunteer Officer Suzie Thurgood has said:
“The theatre is run and maintained on the whole by volunteers. Not only do we have some amazing acts performing at the theatre, it is also used by theatre and stage schools both on and off the Island.
“Our Volunteers are an integral part of the theatre, and we are always on the lookout for more.”
