Yarmouth RNLI’s All Weather Lifeboat was called into action to assist a 20ft yacht on Friday (30th December 2016).
The yacht ‘Seronissima II’, which had 3 people on board, was unsure of her position and was becalmed in thick fog 2 miles south of The Needles rocks.
With the casualty yacht having suffered catastrophic instrument failure, including the loss of GPS, Yarmouth Lifeboat was launched at around 17:30 and was quick to locate the boat.
Seronissima II was escorted safely into Yarmouth Harbour, arriving at 18:45.
