4 local organisations will be pitching for funding in an unique way on Wednesday, as the community crowdfunding project IOW Soup returns.
On Wednesday 8th March at Quay Arts Centre in Newport, Ability Dogs 4 Young People, Wave Project (IOW), Meraki and @thestudio will all be pitching ideas of how they can benefit the Island and its community.
IOW Soup invites Islanders to make a donation before listening to the 4 pitches who each have 4 minutes of allotted time. After listening to the ideas, the audience eat free Soup and then vote for their favourite idea. The project that gets the most votes goes home with the money raised on the door – the only rule is that the money has to be spent on the Island.
Past winners have included Ryde Skate Park and The Rainbow Club, a charity that supports the families of kids with learning difficulties.
Entertainment will be provided by Richard Morris, who is playing songs from his new EP ‘Stay Alive’.
The event gets underway at 19:30 at Quay Arts, Sea Street, Newport. Everybody is welcome and there is no age restriction. Suggested donation of £4.
