Local author, Joan Ellis is inviting you to The Isle of Wight Literary Festival where she will be performing her new show: ‘A Woman’s Wit, Wisdom and Pratfalls’, celebrating women in all their wonderfulness – not forgetting those cringe-worthy moments when they want to make a good impression and life provides the trip wire.
Meet the flip, fearful, fantastic women from her four acclaimed books: chick lit, memoir and psychological thrillers including the five star, Island-based chiller, ‘The Killing of Mummy’s Boy’, inspired by Joan’s terrifying encounter with a murderer on a train. Why didn’t she move seats when he boasted about his crime? Her plan, to keep him calm, worked too well. He asked her to run away with him. Obviously, she refused but having survived the encounter, his twisted insights were too good to waste.
Join Joan at the Isle of Wight Literary Festival at Northwood House on Sunday 18th October at 15:30 when she takes a wry view of a woman’s lot, including the perils of working with animals, children and celebrities in 80s Adland, the ups and downs of bringing up baby alone and her own banana-skin moments.
Ticket price includes a free book at the show.
