The new 2016-17 Live Cinema Season of the Berliner Philharmoniker, featuring 3 classical music concerts broadcast live by satellite between August 2016 and June 2017 will be shown in the comfort and elegance of Ventnor Arts Club.
Broadcast in HD with stunning 5.1 surround sound, each concert also includes added-value content of interviews and programme insights.
The first broadcast is the Season Opening Concert on 26th August at 17:30, conducted by the internationally acclaimed Sir Simon Rattle, and featuring Pierre Boulezs Éclat and Gustav Mahlers Symphony No. 7.
This will be followed by the New Year’s Eve Concert, again conducted by Sir Simon Rattle, and starring the dazzling young pianist Daniil Trifonov with a programme including Rachmaninov, Walton and Dvořák. Broadcast live at 16:00 on Saturday 31st December, this is a proven popular event and ideal to slot in before the evening’s celebrations get underway in earnest.
There will be a rousing finale to the cinema season on Friday 9th June 2017, with the charismatic conductor Gustavo Dudamel leading the orchestra in an exciting and diverse programme including Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 in E minor From the New World.
