“East Cowes Vics AFC is sad to announce the death of our former manager Graham Daish. “Graham built a side feared throughout Hampshire in the 1980s. The Vic’s won the Hampshire League in back-to-back seasons under Graham’s management, going unbeaten in the first season and only losing once in the following season. The club also won 7 Gold Cup finals, 1980, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86 and 89. Many players from his squad of the 80’s went on to play football at a higher level. “Even though Graham moved to the mainland after he had retired from management, he still took a keen interest in the Vics and would attend our games around the Salisbury area where he lived. “Before his death, Graham presented the club with a trophy in his honour, which will be awarded at our 2024 club presentation night. “The club extends its condolences to Rose, Karen and Graham Daish Jnr. “Before our home game against Fawley AFC, the club would like everyone in attendance to take a moment to remember and celebrate Graham’s contribution to our club. “It would be a fitting tribute if any of Graham’s former players can join us.”
Tonight (Tuesday), East Cowes Vics play Fawley at Beatrice Avenue, with kick off at 19:45.
