Audiences can expect classic songwriting and storytelling from a truly unique voice on Monday (13th March) when Larry John McNally will be appearing live at Medina Bookshop in Cowes.
Though not a household name, audiences will certainly know his songs which have been recorded by some of the greatest recording artists of all time, including The Eagles, Aaron Neville, Joe Cocker, Jennifer Warnes, Mavis Staples, Rod Stewart and more.
Legendary US blues singer/guitarist Bonnie Raitt says of the song he wrote for her: ‘”Nobody’s Girl” is a masterpiece.
Larry John McNally is one of my favorite writers ever. He’s an undersung, underrated brilliant artist, and is constantly putting out records. He should be appreciated more than he is.’
His own performances of his literary yet conversational songs are delivered with a warm vocal and his accomplished guitar playing which has been described as “folk-Hendrix.”
Having previously toured the US, Argentina, Japan and Europe as a solo artist, these few dates mark his first solo tour of the UK, his last appearance here was opening for Pink Floyd’s Nick
Mason as part of McNally Waters with keyboardist Harry Waters.
On this leg of his European tour John will be joined on stage by his good friend the Isle of Wight’s very own Tali Trow who will be playing keyboards and bass.
Medina Bookshop is perhaps the Island’ smallest music venue, seating just 30 people so tickets are set to sell out fast.
