This Saturday (1st August), one of the Island’s favourite vocalists is back at Ventnor Arts Club with an all new sound.
Some of you may know Laurie McVay as a great soul and blues singer who fronts a stonking electric set with the High Rollers. But this show is an acoustic take on the blues and sounds sublime in the club.
The line-up, on its debut night at the club over a month ago, controversially omitted a lead guitar for a sax (two by the end of the evening) along with a piano and bass and resulted in a fantastic fresh take on some classic blues. Laurie also blows a very impressive blues harp to fill out the sound even more.
There will be an appropriately themed supper at 19:30 ahead of the show. For the show only, the show starts at 21:00.
Tickets are available online via ventnorartsclub.com.
