The Isle of Wight’s Kimberley Murray bounced back in style with a top 10 finish in the latest IBSF BMW World Cup Woman’s Skeleton round in St Mortiz, Switzerland yesterday (Friday).
The 30-year-old had a disappointing 20th place finish at Innsbruck, Austria last week meaning she had a lot to prove going into this week’s race.
2 solid runs on the Swiss track yesterday secured equal 10th with Switzerland’s Marina Gilardoni in a time of 2:20.01, just 0.74 seconds behind fellow Brit Madelaine Smith.
The respectful finish is a new World Cup personal best for the former Long Jump athlete from Ryde. Kimberley’s best finish to date is 1st place in the Europe Cup at Winterberg last November.
Murray finishes the European leg of the World Cup in 14th place overall with 516 points . Her next World Cup outing will be on 15th February at Lake Placid, USA.
