The Isle of Wight’s Kelly Sotherton has been talking about her plans to make the next Commonwealth Games as successful as possible.
The 3-time Olympic medallist has been appointed as England’s athletics team leader for the competition in Birmingham in 2 years time.
Kelly won the Games in 2006 and believes it can be a springboard for the career of young athletes, just like it was for her.
Speaking to Alex Seftel of the England Athletics Podcast, Kelly said:
“My aim is to make this Games the most successful for athletics, but also to do it in the best way…I want everyone to come away with an experience – that they really enjoyed it – whether they won or lost”.

Good luck Kelly xx
Seems so trivial now. Someone swimming a hundredth of a second faster than someone else when so many are gasping for their last breath in the entire worlds hospitals.
Still, I guess we need such pointless trivia to give our minds something to think about rather than death and misery data.
So good luck, and hope they throw in an extra bucket full of chlorine in each pool you train in, as tiny pieces of poo can carry this virus for a long time if shared by infected people. Take care and hope you stay safe and do well. We need some good, albeit useless news now.
