3 youngsters and their parents have paid a visit to a trio of emergency services to thank them for treating and rescuing a girl who suffered a burn injury at Colwell Bay last week.
9-year-old Kaitlin, her sister Rachel and their cousin Robert popped along to Freshwater Fire Station earlier this week where they met the town’s retained firefighters and Co-Responder, The Needles Coastguard Rescue Team and paramedics from the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
Kaitlin and her family brought gifts for those who helped her in her hour of need after she stepped on some hot coals whilst enjoying an evening at the seaside.
Furthermore, Kaitlin’s family made a very generous donation to The Fire Fighters Charity.
On the flip side, Kaitlin received a certificate for bravery and Rachel and Robert received certificates of merit for helping with the incident on the day. They were all given a tour of the blue light vehicles that responded on the day.
