Continuing to attract class acts from all over the continent, Ventnor Arts Club is now bringing John Reilly, front man of legendary UK band Boy on a Dolphin, to deliver a powerful arsenal of his beautifully crafted songs.
Originally from Liverpool but now based in Sheffield, John released his second solo album to critical acclaim. “Zebulon’ is one of those albums where, in past times, every song would have been pulled for single release and flown up the charts”.
Reilly, along with Canadian songwriter Lewis Nitikman, wrote the eleven pure pop songs that make up ‘Zebulon’. Every song exudes class and it’s the type of album that we rarely hear these days.
BBC Radio 2 Dj’s Graham Norton, Paul O’Grady, Aled Jones and Alex Lester have all played tracks from ‘Zebulon’ and the album is getting airplay in 26 countries to date.
Stephen Izatt of Ventnor Arts Clu said:
“We go a long way looking for acts who we think will delight our audiences.
“It’s a privilege to bring artists who frequently fill large concert halls to play intimate gigs in the club. It often brings out a different side to them while giving the audience a chance to connect very closely”.
Reilly is no stranger to music. As front man with Boy on a Dolphin he has already built up a strong international following, which can only grow with songs of the calibre of those found on ‘Zebulon’.
See him live and up close at Ventnor Arts Club with ace Canadian pianist Lewis Nitikman at 21:00 on Saturday 16th May 2015.
