Attendees of all ages are being encouraged to dig out their neon 80s and 90s glitz and glam and to celebrate the magic of Summer at Jack Up’s family friendly festival this August.
In conjunction with Enchanted Isle and with the help of various Island businesses and community organisations, Jack Up The Summer will be hosting the Island’s biggest ever Unicorn party.
Event Manager Sarah Moss said:
“People love Jack Up because it offers a safe, fun and affordable weekend for families. Fancy dress has always been a big part of the event, but this year we are asking people to splash as much colour as they dare because things just got even brighter!
“Kids aged 12 and under go free to the festival and our move to a more spacious, self contained site means we’re able to offer them a full array of activities from traditional amusements and inflatables, circus skills, mini trampolines and space hoppers courtesy of 1Lesiure, a huge kids marquee and a bubble station all contained within the one field alongside the musical entertainment on the main stage. Other popular additions include a roller skate rink and retro gaming station to transport some of the bigger kids right back to their youth.”

“Enchanted Isle are thrilled to be bringing their Unicorn Princesses to Jack Up the Summer this year – join us for a whole host of family fun including our Unicorn Creation Station to transform yourselves, our pop up shop to accessorise yourselves, and our craft tent to create some magic of your own!”
Local business are all rallying together to embrace this year’s theme which organiser’s believe embodies the upbeat, feel-good vibe reminiscent of 80’s and 90’s popular culture. There will be festival hair by Couture Hairdressing, Glitter make-overs, body art and beards by All That Glitters, traditional face painting, henna tattoos, unicorn slush and even unicorn gin and beer for the adults courtesy of Island Ales.
In its 7-year history Jack Up has helped raise in excess of £27,000 for a whole range of charities and local good causes with organisations such as the Earl Mountbatten Hospice, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, Prostate Cancer UK, Oxfam, the Joe Ellis Trust, Isle of Wight Society for the Blind, Wight Crystal and IW Scouts all benefitting. This year the festival will be supporting various Woman’s Institute’s from across the Island via the provision of a tea tent enabling them to raise valuable funds for their charity, whilst giving something back to the local community.

We’ll look forward to welcoming you suitably dressed in our unicorn best. We will also have birthday or celebration cakes to order!”
