Tops Newport – part of the Tops Day Nurseries group – are this week celebrating the top achievement of being rated ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted following a recent inspection.
The report by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate marked all 4 areas of the inspection as Outstanding, including leadership and management, teaching, learning and assessment, personal development, behaviour and welfare and outcomes for children.
Ofsted’s latest green tick brings Tops Day Nurseries to have 6 Outstanding nurseries within the family of 20, which cover most of the South and South West.
The report noted that:
“Children truly take centre place. Through the ‘pre-school committee’, staff actively seek the views of older children. Children discuss what they enjoy and any suggestions for improvement. Their discussions directly influence activity planning, and staff’s action plans for enhancement incorporate their views.”
The relationship that staff build with parents and the community is a factor they are extremely proud of, which is also reflected in the report. The full report can be found here.
Hannah Jennings, Nursery Manager commented:
“We are absolutely delighted to have received an Outstanding grading from OFSTED. We all work extremely hard and I couldn’t be more proud of my staff and children.
“We would like to say thank you to all our parents for their on-going support.’’
Cheryl Hadland, Managing director said:
“I am thrilled Tops Newport have received the highest rating from Ofsted. Hannah and the team put so much effort into every day practice and have even been known to come in over weekends to ensure the nursery is the best it can be.
“Tops Newport has been recognised as a showcase nursery by external providers all over the country, with over 1000 likes on their Facebook page and constant engagement on their activity posts.”
