Football returns to Westwood Park this evening (Tuesday) as a Cowes Sports XI face an Isle of Wight XI.
The Isle of Wight men’s football team has already played 2 practice games ahead of the Island Games in Guernsey.
On Saturday, the Isle of Wight drew 3-3 with Portsmouth-based Wessex Premier outfit Moneyfields. The scorers for the Isle of Wight were Connor Kelly, John McKie and Ollie West.
On Monday, the Isle of Wight beat East Cowes Vics 4-1 at the County Ground in Shanklin. Connor Kelly, Joe Butcher (x2) and Liam Triggs were on target for the Isle of Wight, with Harrison Taylor scoring the consolation goal for Vics from the penalty spot.
The Isle of Wight starting XI on Monday were: Pitman, Hughes, Hancock, Biss, West, Oatley (c), Phillips, Younie, Kelly, Browne, Butcher.
Vics’ starting XI were: Ram, Mumford, Yates, Chase (c), Newbold, Taylor, Reynolds, Boyd-Kerr, Nash, Chapman, Coode.
Kick-off at Westwood Park is at 19:30 with £5 entrance.
