Newport-based Wight Computers have doubled their team in the last 12 months having now taken on their first apprentice.
Jamie Stone recently graduated from the Isle of Wight College and the college’s apprenticeship team supported the company in their search. Jamie joins the established team of technology innovators who are all proud alumni of the College.
Andrew Nordbruch, Managing director of Wight Computers commented:
“The business has been growing steadily over the last five years since we started, and we’re overjoyed to now have more than 60 reviews on the independent online review platform Google Business; 100% with a five-star rating.
“We have seen a real increase in the past year specifically for effective, bespoke software solutions which help businesses to improve their productivity and which save them time and money. It’s an exciting time for the company and I am very pleased to be able to offer an apprentice the opportunity to grow and develop with us.”
Jamie will be working alongside John Collingwood who heads up the web and software development side of the company and says:
“I have always had a particular interest in writing software and I feel privileged to have joined a young and dynamic IT team. I’m looking forward to being able to contribute to the new ideas that Wight Computers offer their clients.”
